I hope you all had a Wonderful long weekend! We certainly had a great time at the Milang Community Centre 10th Birthday Celebrations on Saturday, with poetry, walking tours, scones, native food, Turtle Shed, Murray the Turtle and more! A big thank you to all the people who make the Milang Community Centre a wonderful place!

Yesterday was a busy day at the Strathalbyn Show where the Lakes Hub shared a stall with the Goolwa to Wellington LAP and Rodwell Creek/Wistow Landcare Group which was a great success. We sold lots of plants form Clayton & Milang Nurseries and chatted with people about the Lakes & Coorong, the Community Revegetation Program, the Community Nursery Network, Fleurieu Swamps, Native Foods and many other topics! Including the DEWNR ‘Ecosystem Benefits and Community Values’ Online Survey. This survey has been put together by CSIRO and is designed to gauge what people understand and value about the Lakes & Coorong and services provided by these natural ecosystems, see page 3.

This week we say Goodbye to Gemma Cunningham from the DEWNR Community Engagement Team who has been working with the Lakes Hub since its beginnings. Thankyou Gemma for all your hard work and enthusiasm and Best Wishes for the future! We will miss you!

Enjoy the sunshine! Amelia & The Lakes Hub Team
