We are celebrating Biodiversity Month by profiling some of our stunning local native orchids (see first instalment p2). Saturday September 7th is Threatened Species Day (commemorating the death of the last Tasmanian tiger at Hobart Zoo in 1936). Look out for Regina Durbridge’s (GWLAP) new Frog Poster soon to be installed on the Wellington Ferry (also on p2). How many of us visited Open Gardens over the Weekend? Jill Taylor went to Currency Creek Eucalypt Arboretum and included inside is a report from Andrew Dawes who visited Daisy Patch.

In this week’s issue:

  • September is Biodiversity Month
  • Plant Profile – Fleurieu Leek Orchid
  • Frog Monitoring in the Lower Lakes – poster
  • The History Spot ‘Green Water’ at Lake Alexandrina & Another Boomerang connection with aviation
