The lakes Hub offers a big Happy 50th Birthday to the Milang Regatta Club!

Sailing and boating are a big part of life on the lakes, a huge source of recreation and tourism and an important part of the economy of our small towns.

2012 has been a special year, with the Milang to Goolwa Freshwater Classic returning after 4 years of not being able to go ahead. I’m sure you’ll agree, the sight was absolutely breathtaking. It is only fitting that the Club can celebrate its 50th year with a great flow of water.

It’s certainly true that a healthy environment promotes healthy recreation.  With continued progress with bioremediation, encouraging biodiversity and enough environmental water flow, the future could be bright for another 50 years (plus!) for the Regatta Club, and other guests of the Lakes.

More information on Celebrations (which will be celebrated at the Opening Regatta on September 29th and 30th ) and the upcoming season can be found on the Milang Regatta Club website, and their Facebook page
